About the blog

Hello my Name is Steve Jenkins. Welcome to my book review  blog, Serious Reading. 

 I have worked in several libraries and currently  serve as a voulunteer reviewer for the
Midwest Review of Books. 

When I am not working, you will probably find me reading a book.
I  have been a book adict for a long time.
In fact, one of my fondest and earliest childhood memories
is listening to my mother read a book about rocks to me.
Since that time  my reading tastes have gotten a little bit more advanced
but I have never lost the joy of curling up with a good book.  

Since I love books, I thought it would be a great  idea for me to share some books reviews and literary thoughts with the rest of the blogosphere. 

For more information on what I will read and review see my review policy. 
Unless otherwse noted titles will come from my personal collection or from local libaries.
I will post at least twice a month. 

A note on comments 

I welcome comments on the books I choose to review or the blog in general assuming they are polite. Please note that any comments that I judge to be  inflammatory will be deleted.
Sharing your personal opinion of books is okay-but please make sure they are not personal.
